Cut Throat's Garden

Cut Throat Francis’ EP, This Garden’s Never Gonna Grow, 6th September. It’s their second EP but their first since being in the ADSR family… so it’s our Cut Throat Francis debut? Either way, it’s exotic, it’s fun, it’s Balkan Swing-Folk for goodness sake. There’s a music video and a tour coming too, so, take a listen and wait with excitement like the rest of us!

What will happen when you press the play bar this month? Keeping the range up with a blendini of textures: dance, folky singer-songwriter and rock from Matt Dwyer, Alone Zone and Alternative Therapy. Also taking in the music capitals of Brighton and Glasgow, as it happens, on top of news from our artists and around the label.

Alone Zone

Upbeat as a Beatle on a sunny day. Mellow as a cat on a pillow. Does it blend? Yes it does! Do It For Athena is a personable song inspired by the underdogs of Greek mythology, in this case the Goddess of Wisdom (and warfare, oddly enough) who must take a backstage to her more boring husband. Look forward to more singles, a mini-album and a tour from these guys over the next six months.

Alternative Therapy

An unholy cocktail of passion and sombreness. Singing from Glasgow, Just A Zombie has overtones of Kurt Kobain and the Crandberries (can you imagine if that was a band?). With an ethereal synth wash and some big dynamic contrasts, it makes for an immersive listen. It comes from their recent album Rosita’s Revenge.

Matt Dwyer

Matt is a 21 year old producer from Surrey. Obviously he uses his time wisely because he already has some formidable production skills and his original tracks have had him picked up by BBC Introducing - and now by us. Unappreciative is an anthemic dance track full of the peaks and dives that have made the genre so stirringly visceral.
