GRIM

Alvin Blomberg’s cappuccino-smooth voice is back with us! Having previously fronted for Pwned By Gravity, the Swedish singer launches his solo folk project with Lead Me On Or Leave Me Be, an intoxicating homage to classic folk textures, supported by instrumentals from his Pwned By Gravity bandmates and weaved with those compelling hooks that make you close your eyes and soak it in… also, they have a single coming early next year followed by a whole album. Bring it on!

Podcast: Around The Log Fire

Every month, Cam brings three tracks to your attention from emerging (and deserving) artists. This time we reach deep into the network to bring old friends together over the Christmas month - Alvin Blomberg’s new folk project GRIM, The High Point’s She’s So Fresh from their new album Bust A Move and James Banks with Bad Days.

James Banks

Doncaster’s James Banks has come back with another single, this one catchier than the last. Yet for all its effective synth hooks and tasty vocal melodies, Bad Days is a hugely vulnerable track, capturing the experience of depression’s worst days. Being so honest with so much style is impressive to say the least. New tracks can sometimes drop without massive warning, so keep tabs on his socials.

The High Points

The High Points are a funky trio out of Norwich that play funk. And their funky new album is very, very funky. Where this is going, is that if you like funk then their album Bust A Move will leave you catatonic. For safety reasons, it’s best to start with one single - we bring you She’s So Fresh. These guys gig a lot, and gig well, so keep an eye.
